Deep Panuke Pipeline Shore Access

Primary subcontract for the marine & onshore scope associated with the Deep Panuke offshore gas pipeline landfall. The project included a 1,100m trench dredged in heavy till with both land and marine based rock blasting. The shore based transition trench was excavated and the pipeline pulled from the offshore Allsea pipelay vesse ‘Lorelay’ onto shore using a 500 ton Bezemer winch. The entire pipeline was carefully backfilled following the successful pull-in operations.

Installation of 1000 m of 1650 mm dia. CPP outfall sewer pipe from a drop shaft chamber into Lake Ontario, with 15 diffusers. Work involved excavation of trench in hard till, disposal of excavated material, installation of pipe and stone bedding in trench, backfilling trench, topping with armour stone for protection, fish shoals and a drop shaft chamber on shore.
