Location: Based in the Dartmouth NS Office, travel required within the Atlantic Provinces
Position Overview:
Responsible for the overall management of Marine Projects ranging in value between $2 million and $50 million, which vary in complexity, duration and location.
Responsibilities:
Technical/Operational
- Manage overall planning, design, and implementation of construction activities.
- Effectively coordinate and manage all equipment/manpower needs on site
- Effective management of subcontract work
Finance/Accounting
- Responsible for project budget and reviewing costs versus budget on a regular basis
- Prepare and submit progress billings
- Manage all project procurement and review and approve all project expenditures
Human Resources
- Monitor performance of project staff and provide feedback (positive or negative)
- Coordinate new employee onboarding for project staff
- Participate in recruitment and hiring process for new project staff
- Staff and labour relations are managed in coordination with Human Resources
- Ensure positive relationships with the Owner, the Owner’s representatives and other project stakeholder are maintained
Quality Health Safety and Environment
- Ensure the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment program is managed effectively
- Partner with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental team
Administrative
- Manage project from start-up and through to close out, ensuring all documentation is complete
- Proactive management of risks, claims and changes that arise on the project and liaison with the estimating department as required.
- Maintain/review and approve employee costs and records
Note: The project manager’s responsibility is to directly perform various duties will depend on the scale of the project.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
University degree or college diploma in engineering or construction related discipline.
Years of Experience:
Minimum 5 years heavy civil experience preferably in the Marine Construction Field in a Leadership role.
Requirements:
- Project Management Experience, preferably Marine Construction
- Experience with project scheduling, procurement, budgeting, QHSE, contract administration, claims management, and labour relations.
- Must be willing to travel and relocate

Salary: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
