Position: Project HSE Advisor (Contract)

Position Location: Burnaby, BC

The Project HSE Advisor is responsible for:

  • Assist with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining of McNally occupational health, safety, environmental programs on a project to reduce or prevent loss due to injuries and incidents.
  • Ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees
  • Provide support in maintaining the Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Management System
  • Prepares and ensures toolbox talks/JHA’s are completed on the project required frequency
  • Performs HSE orientations for new hires
  • Investigate and complete reports on QHSE related incidents
  • Coordinates with Corporate QHSE Manager as required
  • Coordinates with Sr. Project Manager and Superintendents/Supervisors to ensure appropriate HSE materials are provided
  • Performs site inspections on required frequency
  • Maintain HIRAC/JHAs in coordination with Sr. Project Manager and Superintendents/Supervisors
  • Assist and ensure implementation of project Owner specified Environmental, Health and Safety Plans

Qualifications:

Education Requirement

A certificate and/or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, or in a related field (or the equivalent in work experience).

CRSP/CRST certification an asset.

Experience Requirements

Experience in construction Health & Safety preferred.

Experience in ISO Management Systems considered an asset.

2 to 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.

Knowledge of Provincial and Federal laws and regulations.
